ROBERT  GRUNKE:

Bob Grunke was born and raised in New York City and worked in the financial industry for over 30 years. Since then, he has embarked on a new career in fine art photography and has been taking workshops to broaden his artistic and technical expertise.

Bob is a member of the Monmouth Country Arts Council, the Guild of Creative Art, the Monmouth Art Society, and the Monmouth Camera Club. He has been accepted in numerous juried art shows including the Salmagundi Club (New York), Perkins Center for the Arts, Monmouth Festival of the Arts, McKay Imaging Gallery, Brookdale College, Ocean County Artists Guild, Monmouth Museum, Monmouth Art Society, and the Guild of Creative Art. He has won many awards at the Monmouth Camera Club and the New Jersey Federation of Camera Clubs and has also exhibited at Thompson Park, the Middletown Library, West Long Branch Library, Little Silver Boro Hall, and Manalapan Library. Bob has had solo shows at  El Lobo Negro Gallery and, most recently, at the Frederick Gallery. In 2005, Bob served on the board of directors of the Guild of Creative Art.

Photography has allowed Bob to see in a new way, especially in his everyday surroundings. The photographs presented here are from his New York City series, which capture places and people in small slices, each taken at a special moment in time and imbued with Bob’s unique vision, one he hopes to share with the viewer.
